SASA: Day 2: Blossburg, PA
Posted Sept. 27, 2006, 2:38 a.m.

Left our camp site in downtown Elmira a bit late; as we rolled over the levee and into town again a girl in the back seat of a car gave us a look as if utterly aghast and bewildered at our… presence? Unable to help ourselves (literally), we burst into laughter and continued south. We entered PA in a short time, taking 549 S (nice road! many of the PA state roads were nicer than NY). Viscious head wind all day. There’s a short cut in Jobs Corners (to the West) that cuts of a few miles.

We camped off of SR 15 south of Mansfield (just north of Blossburg) in the woods behind a farmer’s corn field. We discovered relatively soon that the corn was being harvested (which continued a good portion of the night!).

Dinner: Couscous w/fresh tomato sauce and stewed apples for dessert. Yum!
