SASA: Day 3: Landrus, PA
Posted Sept. 28, 2006, 2:56 a.m.

Today we continued south along old 15 a few km south of Blossburg. There we caught Arnot Rd to, well, Arnot.

After a little snack by the post office (which was 'for sale by owner,’ oddly enough, anyone looking for a post office?) Shortly after Arnot we caught Landrus Rd—a beautiful, smooth dirt road that went downhill virtually all the way to Morris, through a state forest.

It started raining so we setup camp a bit early (well, really early) and made a delicious dinner of polenta (with eggs, mozz. cheese, tons of butter, and garlic). Made so much it also ended up as breakfast the next morning (not bad!). We weren’t too sure about camping policy in the forest, so we made half hearted effor to be inobvious. The ranger found us anyway. From him we learned that you needed a permit to camp, but they were free and he just gave us one (although I think technically we were due for a citation for setting up sans-permit). Thanks be to friends folks.
