Cycling with Kody and Mark : Last Play Ride!
Posted Jan. 18, 2009, 6:03 p.m.

Mark and I went with Edwin and David to Cartago where David’s sister and her boyfriend, Camo live. The six of us started the ride in Cartago and saw the original Cartago Catholic church that had been destroyed by an earthquake. Instead of rebuilding, they made it into a garden on the inside and left the shattered structure as is. They rebuilt the church in a new location and I think it is now the head diocese church (or whatever you call it) of Costa Rica. (I snapped a picture inside the church during service…am I going to hell for that?)

We spent all day riding down into the valley town of Orosi. The day was quite uneventful until David’s chain derailer if you don’t know what that is, don’t worry about it) somehow got caught up in his spokes and broke beyond repair. We laid our bikes down and spent about 30 minutes making his bike into a fixed gear bike for the ride back. Just when we were ready to take off and before we had touched our own bikes, we heard a “pshhh“!! Just sitting in the sun, Camo’s bike tire had popped! I think God is mad at me for taking that photo in the church!
