Cycling with Kody and Mark : Lagoon de Arenal
Posted Jan. 24, 2009, 9:28 p.m.

It has rained the last 4 mornings in a row, and today was no exception. We bundled for our longest ride yet. We weren’t sure of the terrain around the lake, but we wanted to try to get to Tilaran on the other side of the lake, just shy of 50 miles. It rained on us off and on the entire day. It was usually refreshing, as long as it wasn’t accompanied with a strong wind and pelting us. We even got some photos of a double rainbow over the lake before it started to really rain on us. The small up and down hills took their toll on us and it took us the whole day to get to Tilaran, but we accomplished our first longer ride. Mark and I felt that we could celebrate. I asked a man in town if there was a pizzeria, he smiled as if it were my lucky day, walked us up the street to the local pizzeria and said, “Es mio!”. Mark and I ate well. They love pizza down here and they make it well too!
