Santa Teresa summed up…smokin’...dopin’...drinkin’...surfin’...drum circles…and then Mark and I standing there awkwardly looking on.
We stayed at a really cool hostel where it is quite common for people to come from all over the world and stay in the hostel for months at a time. I was able to finally go to a doctor to get my increasingly infected leg looked at. I got it cleaned and got some antibiotics and cream to take care of it. Quite a relief for me to get that figured out.
At different times, the evidence of our cycle-traveling comes through as we are too tired at night to do anything. I displayed this on Saturday night as I fell asleep at about 10:30pm in my bunk-bed, as every other person in the entire hostel, including Mark, went together to the only bar in town that had dancing. Mark lasted until about 2am before he returned, while everyone else from the hostel and half of the whole town stayed up until about 4 or 5am. Needless to say, Sunday morning was a quiet morning in town.
Most importantly…on Sunday night, Mark and I walked to an American sports bar with a Canadian football fan, and a German that had never seen a football game in his life. It was a decent sized bar, but it was packed and standing room only to watch the Super Bowl. As I’m sure you already saw, it was a great game to watch, despite the fact that we were explaining each rule and play to the German that didn’t understand the game. However, we were some of the few that were screaming for the Cardinals to win, so we were bummed with the outcome.
