Cycling with Kody and Mark : Panama City (still)

3/7-10

You could say that our time in Panama City has become more of our Spanish class time, and less any sort of riding our bikes. We are somewhat constrained to Panama City at this point because we can’t get more than a half day away, in case we need to come back for our ship. We call in everyday to check the status of our ship, and they can’t say anything but, “it is not here yet, but it will be soon”. So we have spent a lot of time taking the crazy buses around town and finding random places to go in the meantime.

The family we are staying with hosts a small group Bible study on Thursday nights on the patio (our bedroom), followed by a Friday night service and a Sunday morning worship service. Needless to say, Mark and I saw a lot of the Lord this weekend, and the Lord was speaking Spanish. Furthermore, translating makes me tired, and Mark can verify that I dozed off a few times during the Friday service.

It was Hilcias birthday on Monday night, so the small group and other friends came over to celebrate and eat cake. We had a great time eating and talking, and once everyone left, Mark and I started teaching the family some country line dancing. And just like the Nazarenes always said…that dancing leads to sin…occurred as Mark began to do various dances for us, including a very nice pole dance.

Roger is very impressed with your “Barba” Kody, and I am truly impressed with Mark’s pole dancing skills. We’re looking forward to stories from Colombia. Cuidense
