Jordan, Europe, Earlham woo!: Back home now
Posted Sept. 2, 2007, 3:09 p.m.

No I’m not dead. No I didn’t get kidnapped. I’ve been home for a while and just stopped caring about the travelog. The way back was a little interesting in that I had to spend two consecutive nights in the Dublin and Paris airports and then got sick for three days while I was in Paris on a friends couch/bed. I was very very grateful to have that friend. I then left and went to NYC where I stayed with Steve from Jordan and his wacky family and had one of the best times I’ve had in NYC thusfar. Interestingly enough, the trip home once I was back in the states was more harrowing. I got stuck in Detroit and had a huge nostalgia trip when I saw a speedway right outside my hotel glistening in the sweltering heat (the first heat I had experienced in over a month). The reason for the nostalgia is that I spent the previous summer in Richmond working, and Speedway is the closest convenience store, hence the target for many late night expeditions. It was a bit sad but then I figured there would be many more nostalgia trips, and better.
